‘Inside Out 2’ is now in theaters! The film officially premiered yesterday, the 20th, throughout Brazil, and if you haven’t already secured your ticket to follow Riley’s new adventure and her emotions, find out below everything you need to know before settling down in your cinema seat and follow the story on the big screen!
The first film
The release is a direct sequel to the animation released by Disney and Pixar in 2015, ‘Inside Out’, a film lasting just over 1h30 that follows Riley, an 11-year-old girl who, against her will, has just moved to a new city. Adapting to a new routine and making new friends is not an easy task, but things become even more complicated when, subconsciously, your emotions end up losing control.
It turns out that Alegria tries at all costs to make Riley happy in this new phase, preventing other emotions from manifesting, mainly Sadness. As a result, there is a conflict and Joy and Sadness end up sending the girl’s base memories (which are memories that helped build Riley’s personality) to a place very far from the control room.
With this, Sadness and Joy embark on a journey to recover the base memories and prevent the memories organized on Silly Island, Friendship Island, Family Island, Hockey Island and Honesty Island from being completely destroyed, leaving Riley temporarily under control of the three other emotions that the girl has: Disgust, Fear and Anger.
Even though with the absence of Sadness and Joy, Riley goes through confusing moments, when the two manage to return to the control room and put the base memories in place, everything is sorted out, leaving a lesson at the end: all emotions are important! Furthermore, there needs to be balance for a good coexistence between all of them.
The short film
In addition to the feature, the short film “Riley’s First Date” (2015) was released, where it is possible to follow the emotions during a new and important event in the girl’s life: the first time she goes out with a boy! The meeting even throws the emotions of Riley’s father and mother into confusion, but in the end, everyone finds the best way to deal with the news.
The plot of ‘Inside Out 2’
With that in mind, ‘Inside Out 2’ follows Riley after blowing out her 13th birthday candles and now being a teenager. With the arrival of puberty, the girl discovers new loves, creates new islands of personality, faces new dilemmas and of course, deals with new emotions, which will put Joy, Fear, Sadness, Disgust and Anger in a new challenge, after all, redividing the command from the control room will demand a lot from all of them.
The new emotions
For the new story to take shape, 4 new emotions were presented. They are: Shame, which is pink like blush; Boredom, characterized by purple; Envy, mirrored by the teal color and Anxiety, a character that is completely orange.
