Will Stray Kids be on the “Deadpool & Wolverine” soundtrack? Understand the theory

Discover the fan-found connections between ATE” and Stray Kids’ “Chk Chk Boom” with the new Deadpool movie

Will Stray Kids be on the “Deadpool & Wolverine” soundtrack? After the announcement that the group’s next return to promotional activities will take place with the release of “ATE” and “Chk Chk Boom”, a theory began to circulate the internet connecting the titles with the anti-hero’s third film.

Understand the theory

The connection between Stray Kids and the franchise starring Ryan Reynolds started in 2021, when felix appeared wearing the character’s mask during a performance on ‘Kingdom: Legendary War’, an Mnet program known as the male version of “Queendom”, which crowned the group as the winners of that year’s edition. Remember!

After that, Reynolds and the leader of Stray Kids, Bang Chanwere the protagonists of cute interactions, where they exchanged autographed gifts and compliments in interviews, as reported by the Koreaboo portal, awakening in STAYS (Stray Kids fans) the hope that the relationship would be taken to the big screen, putting some of the group’s songs on the track sound from the next film by Wade Wilson and his alter-ego.

The fandom’s desire began to gain the first evidence that it could become a reality in 2022, when Reynolds liked a tweet that asked Stray Kids to make an OST for the new sequel. “I will do anything to see skz make an OST for a Marvel movie, specifically a Deadpool movie,” the text said.

This happened in March and, months later, in December, a new tweet brought more hope to STAYs. This is because the account Miss Minutes (Miss Minutos, in Portuguese), character from ‘Loki’ asked for music recommendations, specifically songs by Stray Kids; look!

It turns out that in November of the same year, the Miss Minutes account and Ryan exchanged tweets, raising the idea that ‘Deadpool and Wolverine’ will connect to the ‘Loki’ series, where Miss Minutes was introduced as one of the technologies of the Time Variance Authority also known as AVT.

With that in mind, with the release of the ‘ATE’ trailer, it was only a matter of time before fans found possible allusions to the Marvel universe. Among them, the colors chosen for the launch cover, as these are the same as those used by Deadpool: black and red.

In the cinematic trailer for ‘ATE’, there is an even more direct reference. @HelloStayBR pointed out in a tweet that the post-it that appears in the preview with the phrase “one of the luckiest in the world” is a phrase that appears in a similar way in the teaser for the new Deadpool film.

Compare the two real time:

In the final scene of the preview, felix appears with a dog he called “Luck Dog” (“lucky dog”, in Portuguese), which is a golden retriever, as well as Lucky, the one-eyed dog adopted by Kate Bishop (Hailee Steinfeld) in “Gavião Arqueiro”, a series released in 2021, which is yet another possible allusion to the MCU.

Another fan went even further by counting in which position the letters ‘ATE’ appear in the alphabet, as these, when added together, result in the number 26, which is the date that ‘Deadpool and Wolverine’ will hit cinemas in July this year .

Furthermore, “Chk Chk Boom”, a title that fans believe to be the title track of ‘ATE’, is an old meme that emerged in Australia (Bang Chan and Felix’s home country) that began circulating after a witness reported this as the sound of a possible gunfire.

The launch logo forms the design of a weapon, making fans believe that, in fact, this will be the track promoted on the soundtrack, as the object has a direct connection with Deadpool and his modus operandi.

It is worth remembering that, until then, all possible connections are just coincidences, after all, the partnership has not been confirmed by Marvel or the agency responsible for Stray Kids’ activities, JYP Entertainment.
