In 2021, K-pop fans were taken by surprise with Source Music’s announcement that the members of GFRIEND decided not to renew their contracts with the company, culminating in the end of the group’s activities.
Since then, many people have referred to the girl group as a separate formation, as the members also followed different paths. However, in different interviews, the members have already made a point of denying the statement, saying that the group did not disband, and that they intend to get together again someday in the future. Recently, SowonHe brought up the subject again, when he participated in a video on the channel “Kiu기우쌤”, where he prepared his hair alongside the YouTuber and hairdresser Lee Sung Gyu.
As they talked, Sunggyu commented about seeing the idol next to Yuju It is Yerin in the audience of the first show of VIVIZ’s tour, and that the members of GFRIEND seem to meet quite frequently, a fact agreed by the singer and actress, who also added that this was the first time that the six of them got together in two months.
The hairdresser then commented that he has seen many comments from people questioning why the group ended and asking for their return, but was soon corrected by the leader by stating that they did not separate, just the contract with the company was finalized.
“Many articles used to say that we broke up. So people are buying into it,” explained Sowon.
