BELIFT LAB announces legal action against malicious comments about ENHYPEN and ILLIT

This Monday, the 10th, BELIFT LAB issued two statements announcing that it had opened legal action against people who carried out malicious activities, including “defamation, personal attacks, sexual harassment, unfounded rumors and malicious criticism” in relation to the groups ENHYPEN and ILLIT , managed by the agency.

In the statements, the company states that it gathered the information through internal investigation, in addition to also using complaints made by fans of both groups, sent directly to the agency. All complaints have been lodged with the police and will be investigated. Check out the complete statements, published by the Soompi portal:

“Hello.

This is BELIFT LAB.

We take legal action against authors of malicious publications that include defamation, insults, sexual harassment, false information and malicious slander against ILLIT. We want to inform you about our progress.

Even as a fledgling group that debuted just three months ago, posts targeting ILLIT have been extremely malicious and go far beyond the bounds of common decency. Strong legal action was urgently needed to protect these new artists. As such, even before we announced how to report such posts, we have been collecting evidence of malicious posts and comments across all available channels since their debut, and have submitted a complaint to the investigative authority.

The complaint includes those who wrote malicious posts and comments on local online community sites (Naver, Nate, theqoo, DC Inside, Instiz, ilbe, etc.), music streaming sites (Melon, Bugs Music, Genie Music, etc. ) and overseas social media channels (X, Instagram, YouTube, etc.). Even posts that were deleted in hopes of eliminating evidence were collected through a real-time monitoring process.

As a result, complaints against hundreds of offenders have been filed with the police and are currently being investigated. Malicious posts will continue to be collected at all times and complaints will be registered regularly.

We will continue to enforce strict measures against malicious posts that invade artists’ rights based on reports made by our fans and evidence collected through our own monitoring to protect the well-being and interests of our artists. We will take decisive action and hold everyone accountable until the end, no matter how long it takes. Our strict no-settlement and no-leniency policy remains in effect.

ENHYPEN

“Hello.

This is BELIFT LAB.

Our company regularly initiates legal proceedings against perpetrators of malicious activities related to ENHYPEN, including defamation, personal attacks, sexual harassment, unfounded rumors and malicious reviews. We would like to provide an update on these activities.

Malicious posts promoting unfounded rumors designed to defame artists are on the rise online. Through real-time monitoring, we collect evidence of such posts, even those that have already been deleted.

Through valuable fan reports and our own monitoring initiatives, we collect malicious posts and comments across all national and international channels and submit a complaint to the investigative authority.

We have been able to track down the nicknames of perpetrators who have been engaging in ongoing malicious activities by periodically changing their nicknames, and we have filed a criminal complaint against these offenders. Please note that posts written anonymously or immediately deleted are also subject to our legal action after the authors are identified during the investigation.

Among previous complaints, the identities of those who wrote malicious posts on national websites have been secured by the investigating authority and legal proceedings are ongoing. Again, those who wrote their posts anonymously or later deleted them are not exempt from our legal actions.

We will continue to take strict action against malicious publications that invade artists’ rights, and our no-deal, no-leniency policy remains in effect. We will conduct the monitoring and collection process more vigorously to secure evidence, take action, and hold those accountable to the end, no matter how long it takes.
