The former first lady of the United States mourns the death of her mother, who died on the night of May 31-June 1. Barack Obama’s wife sent a strong message on social networks, signed by the whole family.

“My mom, Marianne Robinson, was my rock, always there for whatever I needed,” she wrote on Instagram. He was the same constant support to our entire family, we are heartbroken to learn of his passing today. This Saturday, June 1, the former first lady of the United States, Michelle Obama, announced on social networks the death of her elder, Marian Robinson, without clarifying the circumstances of her death.

His message was accompanied by several photographs, followed by a press release about the elder’s life, signed by the entire family. “Marian Lois Shields Robinson had a way of summing up life’s truths in a word or two, or even a quick phrase that made everyone think. His wisdom seemed almost innate, as if he was born with it, but in fact it was hard-earned,” we can read in particular.

“As a grandmother, at every stage of their lives, from early childhood to adulthood, she second-guessed the growth and development of her grandchildren, inspiring them, listening to them, telling them she was proud of them, encouraging them. feel loved, like they’re remarkable in every way.” The Obama couple has two daughters, Malia and Sasha, 25 and 22 years old, respectively.

Being very close to her daughter and granddaughters, Marian Robinson, who is also Barack Obama’s mother-in-law, moved to Washington in 2008 after the latter was elected US President. The former head of government also had strong and moving words to commemorate the disappearance of someone he almost always knew, married to Michelle Obama since the early 1990s. “There was and will be only one Marian Robinson. And we will spend the rest of our lives trying to live up to the example he was,” he concluded.
