In a new video, RM revealed how military enlistment and other moments in his life impacted the creation of the album “Right Place, Wrong Person”
Currently, BTS is on hiatus so that all of its members can fulfill their obligations in the South Korean army. The first to enlist was Jinon December 13, 2022, followed by J-Hope (04/18/2023), Suga (09/22/2023), RM It is V (12/11/2023) and Jimin It is Jungkook (12/12/2023).
However, before the official announcement of the members’ enlistment, the subject became one of the main topics of discussion on and off social media, generating a moment of great emotional turbulence for the members, as revealed by the leader RMin the video “Exchange Album MMM (Mini & Moni Music) — RM”, where he talks to Jiminabout the meaning behind the songs on his new album “Right Place, Wrong Person”.
Namjoon (real name of RM) begins by explaining that he started working on the album in February 2023, with the intention of getting something ready to be released while the group is on hiatus due to military enlistment, and that this project became the perfect way to express the emotional mess that he and the members were facing.
The leader vents that, for a long time, the seven suffered from the issue, mainly due to the numerous debates related to the possible military exemption that the members could receive. “We have suffered for a long time with the issue of military conscription. “At that time, personal and incident-related events occurred. I struggled a lot with what to do… I thought about leaving something behind and letting it all out. I wanted to be honest.”
