A series of documentary short films tells the personal stories of Ukrainians during the war, who, despite everything, continue to work, each in their place, and at the same time volunteer and give humanitarian aid.
In Kyiv, in the Zhovten cinema on May 21, the premiere screening of the documentary series Anthem of Life, consisting of seven short films, took place. Each tells the personal stories of Ukrainians during the war.
All the main characters are ordinary people: fishermen, firemen, power engineers, metallurgists, miners, despite the war and difficult psychological situation, continue to work in their areas and help the country. At the same time, they volunteer for the front and provide humanitarian aid to their countrymen who are facing difficult situations due to the war.
The author of the project is Vladislav Stankevich, known as the director of the documentary film Arrhythmia about the legendary coach of the Dynamo football club (Kyiv) Valery Lobanovsky. In his new project, the director is again trying to draw attention to the events in Ukraine, as well as maintain the morale of all Ukrainians.
“This project is about values, self-sacrifice, hope, love and unwavering faith in the future of our country. We believe these stories will touch everyone and remind them how important stay human even in the hardest times. ” he commented on the premiere show Hymn to life.
The partners of the project are two holdings of Rinat Akhmetov – energy DTEK and metallurgical Metinvest. And two representatives of these companies became the heroes of the series: Zaporizhstal metallurgist Alexey Mashchenko became the main character of the episode Dad, and DTEK power engineer Sergey Foroshcha became the hero of the episode Side of the Sun. The latter participated in the return of light to the occupied Kyiv region in the spring of 2022.
“In fact, there are many people like me – power engineers who do their job every day to ensure that there is light in the homes of Ukrainians – all over the country, and in the last two years, they all have to work in energy facilities, where the enemy can attack them every minute is happening in Ukraine and the conditions in which Ukrainians live,” said Foroscha after the premiere.
Streaming movies will soon be available to the general public on the Megogo service.
