Fans theorize the return of Bing Bong in Inside Out 2, a character who starred in one of the most striking scenes in the first film
In an interview with Empire magazine, the co-writer of Inside Out 2, Dave Holstein, avoided answering a question regarding the character Bing Bong, Riley’s imaginary friend who starred in one of the most striking scenes in the first film and Pixar. In his speech, he says that he will “leave it open”, giving a double meaning to the possibility of us seeing the character again.
Some fans theorize that Bing Bong could return as a new emotion for Riley, as he is an invention created especially in the protagonist’s head. So unless she has completely forgotten about him, he could show up again.
In the plot of Inside Out, we follow young Riley, who needs to face important changes in her life after moving home and state. Her emotions – Joy, Fear, Anger, Disgust and Sadness – help her with this change, but when Joy and Sadness are lost, they cross into strange parts of Riley’s mind on the way home.
Inside Out 2, we will follow Riley through adolescence, while Joy, Sadness, Anger, Disgust and Fear will have to discover a way to live with the arrival of the new and chaotic emotions of this phase. The film should hit Brazilian cinemas on June 14th.
