Certain behaviors contribute to weight gain. This is what Dr. Jimmy Mohamed remembers in a video posted on Instagram.
When you want to lose weight, it happens that the expected results do not come immediately. Despite physical activity and a healthy diet, the number on the scale does not change. Even, it increases. Some bad habits can be the cause, explains star doctor Jimmy Muhammad in a video posted on Instagram on May 9.
To sleep late
Lack of sleep is bad for health and weight. “When we don’t get enough sleep, we eat a lot more,” says the doctor first. And for good reason, “the satiety hormones are blocked and the hunger hormone is activated.” Disturbed, the hormonal system then disrupts our behavior and dictates our food choices. By sleeping late at night, some people tend to swallow more than they actually need. If we want to snack in the middle of the night even though we were full a few hours ago, it’s not because we need to eat, “it’s because our brain is playing tricks on us,” he says. before advising you to eat an early dinner and not go to bed. too late

Eat very quickly
Eating too fast can lead to weight gain. By quickly swallowing your plate, satiety will be felt slowly, and we will continue to eat beyond our needs, warns the doctor. “It takes 20 to 25 minutes for the stomach to send a message to the brain” that it doesn’t need to eat anymore, he explains. If one is in a hurry, this period will not be respected, and the perceived satiety will be due to the inability of the stomach to receive more food. Once the stomach reaches this maximum dilatation, “it’s too late,” says the doctor.
Not eating enough
In order to lose weight, some are also tempted to drastically reduce the number of calories consumed. An ineffective idea, according to Jimmy Mohamed. Starvation in the early stages can certainly cause weight loss. But later on, your body will go into “survival mode” and store more fat in an attempt to function on the few calories it has.
“We can lose weight without being disappointed,” recalls the specialist. It all depends on the foods you eat.” To do this, we advocate a varied and balanced diet with higher amounts of protein and fiber (fruits and vegetables) while consuming less fast sugars. Not forgetting, of course, regular physical activity.
