Warner Bros. announced this Thursday, 9th, that it is developing a new film for the “Lord of the Rings” saga. The film, titled “The Hunt of Gollum”, will focus on the iconic character Gollum, and will be the first in a series of new productions in the franchise.
The filmmaker Peter Jacksonwho directed the “Lord of the Rings” trilogy in the early 2000s, together with Fran Walsh It is Philippa Boyens, is producing the project. According to Variety, the CEO of Warner Bros, David Zaslav, says the trio “will be involved every step of the way.” The direction will be the responsibility of Andy Serkiswho played the character in the original trilogy and in “The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey”.

The film is still in its early stages of production, but Zaslav states that the plot will “explore stories that still need to be told”.
