Through social media, Louis Tomlinson announced that he will raise donations for Rio Grande do Sul in his three shows in Brazil
This Wednesday, the 8th, the first of three shows will take place in Brazil Louis Tomlinson, member of One Direction, with the “Faith In The Future” tour, at Farmasi Arena, in Rio de Janeiro. The singer also has a performance scheduled in São Paulo, on the 11th, and in Curitiba, on May 12th.
Through your official Instagram, in the stories tool, Louis announced that it made a donation aimed at victims of the floods in Rio Grande do Sul to purchase necessary supplies, in addition to announcing that its team organized collection points at all three shows, to collect items for the affected gauchos.
“I’m sending all my love to the thousands of people in Rio Grande do Sul who were affected by the historic floods that hit the region recently. I am extremely grateful to be able to visit and perform in this beautiful country, and it is devastating to see how many lives have been so severely impacted.”, said the star in the statement shared in English and Portuguese.
In the publication, Tomlinson also highlights five items that are extremely necessary to be donated: non-perishable food; clothes — in good condition or new; bedding — pillows and sheets; diapers, baby food and supplies; and food for dogs, cats and other pets.
As reported by CNN, the forecast from Climatempo meteorologists is that the state of Rio Grande do Sul should be hit by strong gusts of wind and high-intensity rain until this weekend. The biggest concern would be for Sunday, which is expected to feature storms across the region.
According to the bulletin released by the Civil Defense of Rio Grande do Sul this Wednesday, 8, reported by G1, the number of deaths caused by the floods rose to 100. Furthermore, 128 are missing, 372 injured, 230,400 homeless, while 66,700 people are in shelters, and 163,700 living in the homes of family and friends. In total, 1.4 million people were directly affected by the rains.
