Courtesy of Marion Dupuy – In the age of remote work, packing your essentials into one bag is more of a headache than ever. Could we consider wearing a second one to carry us through our busy days? “Yes” offers fashion, to which we say thank you.
I don’t know about you, but I’ve always been captivated by these ultra-cool and stylish girls (Caroline de Maigren, just to name one) who show up bagless on all their dates. You know, the ones with their hands in their pockets, with that cheeky je ne sais quoi that proclaims they have unprecedented freedom. or

Another attraction. this wave of micro bags (thanks Jaquemus Chiquitos) that we saw everywhere in the summer of 2021, these small formats are certainly very desirable, but completely incredible and above all, above ground. I admit I succumbed and bought some very cute mini UFOs that I obviously never wore, not even in the evenings. Because how can you fit all your essentials into 3 cm³? Add to this that if you are a smoker, farsighted and a hypochondriac (me, in short), the job is a feat. Where to keep your Nurofenflash 400, your cigarettes and your glasses? Not to mention bike keys, matching lip balm and other small fry of the day.

So imagine my delight when I saw that it’s now fashionable to carry not one, but two bags every day (a trend endorsed by Bottega Veneta, among others). With the telecommuting boom, I’ve also read that it’s common to add a computer, insulated bottle, emergency documents, and anything else on your desk that you need to carefully organize every night, unless, say, me, we are in the flex office… We go and leave with our two bags, therefore. And because fashion is done well, the idea is to signature your look by wearing small sizes to accompany your large shopping bag. Joy. I won’t hide the fact that I’ve clearly ditched my Lilliputian bags (finally) and that’s without having the funds to buy the XL bags to go with them (The Margaux from The Row, shopping bags); Bottega Veneta or Phoebe Philo Studio), I chose a leather model with a very chic minimalist design.

Some will see it as a new luxury in the extended version, others as a mental burden, a sign of the instruction of perfection (did I take all my files and Palmitos Jr.) that is more and more overwhelming… Personally, it saves me from thinking ( where should I put an umbrella and a hat?). Which, you’ll admit, is also a form of cerebral relief that can’t hurt your morale.
