Is having sex only once a month a problem?

DESCRIPTION – When it comes to sexual relations in a couple, the slightest drop in rhythm is often considered disturbing. But what is it really?

The happiest couples would make love once a week, beyond this frequency marital satisfaction would not increase. This was revealed by a study published in 2015 Society for Personality and Social Psychology . Should we conclude that those who are far from the weekly rhythm are less happy? That good marital health is measured by the frequency and regularity of intercourse. And if we only make love once a month, that’s the beginning of the end.

All these questions are asked by many of us, according to experts. Often, in fact, for the wrong reasons. “Some people do very well and are very happy, but you just need to relax,” explains sexologist Claire Alkier. To blame is the surrounding societal discourse that perpetuates the idea that a couple without sex isn’t really a couple, and even more so, that the good health of a union is measured by the steady pace of the relationship…
