Following the announcement of the Princess of Wales’ cancer, this Friday, March 22, James Middleton could not help but write a few words for her on his Instagram page. “Over the years, we have climbed many mountains together. As a family, we will climb this one with you too,” Kate Middleton’s younger brother captioned a vintage photo of them. In the photo, the duo can be seen hiking in t-shirts and backpacks. Missing from the photo is the siblings’ other sister, Pippa Middleton.

This announcement therefore comes on the heels of the Kensington Palace announcement about Prince William’s wife’s cancer. In an immediate viral follow-up on Jan. 22, Kate Middleton finally appeared after months of absence to personally warn royal fans about her situation. “In January I had major abdominal surgery in London. At the time I was thought to be cancer free. The operation was successful. However, tests after the operation revealed the presence of cancer,” the Princess of Wales reveals in a serious tone, forcing her to now undergo preventive chemotherapy.
“We hope you understand that as a family we need time, space and privacy right now while I complete my treatment,” she continued. Now I have to focus on making a full recovery.”
