After ‘The Boy and the Crane’ received the award for ‘Best Animated Film’ at the 2024 Oscars, the film’s studio displayed the statuette for all to see
At the beginning of the month, the film ‘The Boy and the Crane’ received the Oscar for ‘Best Animated Film’, being Studio Ghibli’s second victory in this category. In order to celebrate the victory, the statuette was displayed at Ghibli Park, the studio’s theme park located in Japan.
‘The Boy and the Crane’ premiered on March 22 in Brazilian cinemas and, due to its success, is still showing on some selected networks. Furthermore, it was confirmed this morning, the 21st, that the film will debut on the Netflix streaming service soon.

The animation tells the story of young Mahito who, after losing his mother, moves to his family’s property in the countryside. There, several strange things happen, taking him to an isolated tower, where a talking heron lives.
Upon hearing from the heron that his mother is alive, the boy follows her to the tower and discovers a surprising world, shared by both the living and the dead. In this way, the protagonist embarks on a journey with the mischievous heron as his guide. Remember the trailer!
