Former Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine Dmitry Tabachnik was sentenced to 15 years in prison. After he fled to Russia, he collaborates with the FSB, advising Gauleiters and collaborators in the occupied Ukrainian territories. In particular, the attacker advised Russian proxies in the occupied territories, Vladimir Saldo and Yevgeny Balitsky, on holding “referendums” in Kherson and Zaporozhye. The SBU and the Office of the Prosecutor General reported this on March 21.
Tabachnik also methodically helped collaborators in reformatting the educational industry according to Russian standards. For his fruitful work with the enemy, he received the position of so-called adviser to Balitsky and was included in the local branch of the United Russia party.
The court also announced a verdict against the former head of the State Registration Service, Dmitry Vorona, who, together with Tabachnik, was in direct contact with a staff member of the 9th Directorate of the Department of Operational Information of the 5th Service of the FSB, Oleg Kozlov.
This attacker prepared an appeal to Putin, in which he proposed to reward the Russian military and collaborators who took part in the seizure of part of the territory in southern Ukraine. Subsequently, he became the so-called Russian senator from the Zaporozhye region and fled to Moscow.
Dmitry Tabachnik was found guilty of: high treason (part 2 of article 111 of the Criminal Code), aiding the aggressor state (part 2 of article 28, part 1 of article 111-2 of the Criminal Code) and violation of the laws and customs of war (part 2 of article 28 Part 1 Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). He was sentenced to 15 years in prison. And Dmitry Vorona was sentenced to 12 years for aiding the aggressor state. The court also confiscated property and assets of ex-officials worth more than UAH 200 million.
These sentences are in absentia because the defendants are hiding in Russia and the temporarily occupied territory of Ukraine.
Let us remind you that on February 15, the SBU reported that ex-People’s Deputy Taisiya Povaliy was charged with suspicion on three counts – calls for war, justification of aggression and collaboration. The singer fled to Russia on the eve of the invasion, received a passport from the aggressor country and publicly supported the war against Ukraine.
