Actor Ryan Gosling gave ideas about what he would like his performance of ‘I’m Just Ken’ to be like at the 2024 Oscars. Find out more!
For months, rumors swirled around the internet about a possible presentation of Ryan Gosling at the 2024 Oscars with “I’m Just Ken”, a song featured in the live-action ‘Barbie’, which competed in the ‘Best Original Song’ category. A few days before the awards, the rumor was finally confirmed, and everyone eagerly awaited the actor’s performance.
Days after the renowned event, Molly McNearneyproducer of the ceremony, revealed details about the iconic performance of Ryan, which took place last Sunday, the 10th. According to her, the actor was responsible for much of what happened on stage. Remember!
“Ryan Gosling is a true professional. We met over Zoom a few months ago, talking about the performance. Greta Gerwig also had a lot of creative weight.
He was very committed. His choreographer, Mandy Moore, is exceptional. The idea of him being in pink and everyone in black came from the movie (Gentlemen Prefer Blondes). He was quite clear about how he wanted everything to be structured.
He wanted to start in the audience and have other Kens arrive from everywhere, making it a big celebration of the character until the reveal of Slash’s participation”, concluded Moore.
Even though it didn’t win the ‘Best Original Song’ category, the performance of ‘I’m Just Ken’ went down in Oscar history. In Brazil, ‘Barbie’ is available through the streaming platform Max (formerly HBO Max). Remember the trailer!
