Another princess? Theory claims that Fiona is not the only princess from “Shrek”

Understand the theory that states that, in addition to Fiona, the “Shrek” franchise features another princess who was also the target of a curse

“Shrek” hit theaters in 2001 as a great satire on classic fairy tale stories. This is because, the plot follows a bad-tempered ogre who has his rest in the swamp disturbed by characters from enchanted narratives, leading him to sign a dangerous agreement to have his peace restored: save Princess Fiona, who was the victim of a spell and every night she transforms into an ogress, from a tower protected by a red dragon.

Although the focus of the narrative is on rescuing Fiona, some fans believe that she is not the only princess targeted by a spell. The theory that goes around the internet states that the dragon that guarded the tower in which Fiona was trapped had also once been a princess.

The idea takes into account the books read by Shrek in the openings of the first two films in the franchise. This is because, in the second film, released in 2004, the ogre tells Fiona’s story itself, since in the images it is possible to see the red-haired princess, as well as all the details of her curse, such as the mention of So So Far Away, the image of the character transformed into an ogre, among many others.

However, in the first film it is not Fiona’s story that is presented. This is because the princess who appears on the pages is blonde and was locked in a castle, not in a tower like in the story of Shrek’s great love.

Thus, the theory explains that the story seen in the first minutes of “Shrek” (2001) talks about the past of the Dragon who becomes Donkey’s romantic partner, arguing that the blonde princess’s curse was to transform into a dragon at night. , since on the page that talks about the spell, there is an image of a red dragon surrounded by the magic chalice that would have bewitched the princess.

More than that, the idea argues that the gentlemen who tried to save the princess failed, as they tried to rescue her at night, when she was in Dragon form. Thus, unable to be saved in time for the spell to become irreversible, she ended up being trapped forever in the form of the animal of her curse: a dragon.

Still, the theory can be broken by the most skeptical. This is because the “Shrek” franchise is full of Easter eggs that allude to famous fairy tale plots, so the blonde princess could be a well-known character among fans of enchanted stories: Aurora, from “Sleeping Beauty ”.

That’s because Aurora is a blonde princess who in her story is the victim of a spell and is saved by a kiss of true love. In the plot, the sorceress Maleficent takes the form of a dragon in battle against the prince in an attempt to prevent him from rescuing the princess who was defenseless in the castle.
