Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr and the families of the late John Lennon and George Harrison gave full rights to the life story and music for the film scripts.
Director Sam Mendes plans to make four separate films, each of which will tell the story of one of the members of the famous British group The Beatles. It is reported by different types.
In particular, the Oscar winner aims to make the films intersect and ultimately tell the story of the biggest band in history, until their breakup in 1970.
“I’m honored to tell the story of the greatest rock band of all time, and I’m excited to challenge expectations of what moviegoing is,” Mendes said.
Sony Pictures Entertainment will finance and distribute all four films in theaters, which could be released in 2027.
This was the first time that The Beatles fully supported a film and allowed their music to be used in the films. The band has been the subject of several documentaries, including the 1970s film Let It Be, which chronicled the band’s breakup, and Peter Jackson’s Here Again, which chronicled the making of the Let It Be album.
It was previously reported that the Beatles legend’s bass guitar, which was stolen 50 years ago, has been returned to its owner.
