The London fashion brand has put gray hair in the center of attention in the autumn-winter 2024-2025 collection.
They were probably not yet thirty, and yet they were adorned with graying hair from root to tip. About half of the models in the JW Anderson show walked down the aisle podium wearing voluminous silver curls in a permanent ’80s look this Sunday (February 18) in London. It’s no surprise that these short, salt-and-pepper cuts, styled by star hairstylist Brit Anthony Turner, were none other than a wig, according to the brand’s official press release.
In contrast to this accessory, everyone who wore this vintage hairstyle wore almost bare make-up except for bright red lipstick, which contrasted immeasurably with the gray hair.
Silver revolution
Will white and gray hair be the stars of this fall-winter 2024-2025 fashion week? Indeed, “silver” models (a term that refers to women who accept and accept their natural white hair during the day) are more and more established on the catwalks, even becoming their protagonists. Already on February 13, the American brand Bathseva stood out in New York, choosing to show only models over 40 years old. So offering a parade of heads styled in 50 shades of white and grey.
