Existing since Roy It is Walt Disney founded the company in 1923, Walt Disney Animation Studios is one of the main animation studios in the world, with hundreds of animated productions that reach the public through different formats, as there are shorts, feature films and even series where traces came to life.

Founded just over a hundred years ago, the studio has hundreds of titles that have contributed to the legacy that the company carries, so much so that many of them have been recognized by Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciencesreceiving Oscar statuettes over the last few decades.

That year, Disney competed for the award with ‘Elementos’ (2023), an animation directed by Peter Sohn which highlights the importance of accepting differences and embracing diversity when following the unlikely romance of Wade and Ember or Gota and Faísca, in the national version of the dub, represented by the elements of water and fire, respectively.

“Elementos” will compete against “Nimona” (2023), from Netflix, “The Boy and the Crane” (2023), from Studio Ghibli, “Meu Amigo Robô” (2023), from Lokiz Filmes and “Spider-Man: Through the Aranhaverso” (2023), from Sony at the 96th Oscar ceremony scheduled to take place at the Dolby Theater, in Los Angeles, California, on March 10 of this year.

If Disney wins the category, this will be the sixteenth golden statuette that will join the company’s collection on the Best Animation list, since since 1939, when the category didn’t even exist (the Best Animation category appeared in 2002), Casa do Mickey is already honored with the award that recognizes the best animated productions.

While this year’s results are yet to be announced, find out below which all of Disney’s Oscar-winning films won the Best Animated Feature:

1. Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs (Honorary award in 1939)

Synopsis: “In this Disney animated classic, Snow White wins the hearts of the seven dwarfs and triumphs over a wicked Queen in the film that began Disney’s animation legacy.”

2. Finding Nemo (2004 Oscar® for Best Animated Feature)

5. UP – Altas Aventuras (Oscar® for Best Animation in 2010)

6. Toy Story 3 (2011 Oscar® for Best Animated Feature)

7. Brave (Oscar® for Best Animated Feature in 2013)

Synopsis: “Merida, a skilled archer and the headstrong daughter determined to forge her own path in life, defies an ancient sacred tradition of the kingdom. She will have to use all her skills and resources, including her clever and mischievous triplet brothers, to undo a terrible curse before it’s too late and discover the meaning of true bravery.”

8. Frozen: A Freezing Adventure (2014 Oscar® for Best Animated Feature)

9. Operation Big Hero (2015 Oscar® for Best Animated Feature)
