He also notes that many of them have already appeared on the cover of the fashion magazine since he took over as editor-in-chief in 2017. If Christy Turlington, Linda Evangelista or even Naomi Campbell were featured on the cover, two women who previously collaborated with the magazine, but Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle are missing.

Cover, story

It’s fair to wonder why the Princess of Wales doesn’t appear in this latest Edward Enninful project, photographed by Steven Meisel. Indeed, the wife of Prince William appeared on the cover of the English fashion magazine for the June 2016 issue. A moment that marked the history of British media, which simultaneously celebrated its centenary and proposed for a princess. Wales’ first fashion shoot.

Ditto for Meghan Markle, another absentee. Edward Enninful, however, had entrusted him with the editor-in-chief keys for the September 2019 issue. Dubbed “Forces of Change,” Meghan Markle chose to highlight a whole group of female activists, artists, and even politicians. The cover caused a lot of discussion. “Memo to Meghan. Brits prefer real royalty to fashion royalty,” reads the caption. Daily Mail: .
