Nebulossa was chosen to represent Spain in the televised competition, beating runner-up Jorge Gonzalez by two votes.
The current representatives of Spain in the Eurovision Song Contest 2024 had a scandal because of a provocative song. The BBC reported it.
In particular, the group Nebulossa with the song Zorra and a very provocative number caused anger among the representatives of the feminist movement in Madrid, because, according to them, the track “hurts women in a sexist way. “
The fact is that the word Zorra is translated from Spanish as “fox,” but more often in slang it is used to mean “s**t” or “bitch.”
According to the authors themselves, the idea of their song is, on the contrary, to mock misogyny and highlight the problem of double standards regarding women.
The Prime Minister of Spain, Pedro Sanchez, spoke in defense of the song. She expressed her opinion in the Al Rojo Vivo program on the La Sexta TV channel: “For me feminism is not only fair, it can be fun, and this kind of provocation must leave the culture.”
In this regard, the EBU, which organizes Eurovision, confirmed that the song does not contravene its ban on lyrics that could damage the competition.
It was previously reported that this year the duet Alyona Alyona and Jerry Heil became the official representatives of Ukraine.
The hosts of Eurovision 2024 in Malmö have been announced
