Why will ‘Bridgerton’ be left out of the 2024 Emmys?

The first part of the third season of ‘Bridgerton’ will be released on May 16; understand why the series will not compete for the 2024 Emmy!

“Bridgerton” unfortunately will not compete for the 2024 Emmy. This is because, as Variety explained, Netflix’s production will be divided into two parts and the number of episodes in the first part is lower than the Emmy requirements.

The award eligibility calendar allows series to be launched between June 1st and May 31st of the award year, with the condition that the production has at least 6 episodes. “Bridgerton” will have 4 episodes per part, so it will not be able to compete for this year’s Emmy.

The third season of the series will hit the Netflix catalog on May 16th and June 13th. Therefore, the series will only be able to compete for the 2025 Emmy if the jury considers it “good enough” to receive the nomination.

While the third season does not arrive, it is important to highlight that the first seasons of “Bridgerton” are complete and available in the Netflix streaming service catalog. Remember the trailer for the first season of the series!
