As you know, John Lennon, Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr and George Harrison did a painting together in acrylic and watercolor, between concerts in the Presidential Suite of the Hilton Hotel in Tokyo.
They spent about 100 hours there, between June 29 and July 3, 1966.
The paints for the painting were brought by fans on a visit to the hotel. The creation process took two days and was captured by British photographer Robert Whitaker.
The photographer said the musicians “never discussed what they were drawing” and that the images “developed naturally.”
Recall that a Rembrandt painting was sold at a Sotheby’s auction Worship of the Magiwhich for a long time was mistakenly attributed to the artist’s student.
