Will Superman have a reduced role in the DCU? James Gunn reveals

According to rumors, Superman’s participation in the DCU will be reduced after his solo film; see if the information is true!

In recent days, rumors about Superman’s future in the DCU have been circulating among fans on social media. Hypotheses stated that the Man of Steel would have his role reduced at DC, after the release of “Superman: Legacy”, the hero’s new solo film.

However, james gunn, co-CEO of DC Studios tried to deny the rumor. Through the Threads social network, Colby Sims asked the following Gunn: “Superman: Legacy will be used to show us the broader DC Universe, but after the movie Superman won’t be a main character in the universe going forward and instead that role will go to Supergirl?”

In response, the filmmaker said “Stop listening to stupid rumors”, leaving no doubt that the rumor is nothing more than a lie. Although several films for the new DC universe are in the works, “Superman: Legacy” is the one that is attracting the most public attention. The film will feature David Corenswet in the title paper.

Recently, james gunn announced that Batman will not be part of “Superman: Legacy”, in addition to also announcing the choice of Milly Alcock for the role of Kara Danvers, Supergirl, Superman’s cousin. The actress is expected to make a brief appearance in the Man of Steel film.

Filming for “Superman: Legacy” should begin soon, as the film is scheduled to premiere in July 2025.
