At least, according to John Krayer.
Cryer and Sheen were together on the successful CBS sitcom “Two and a Half Men” in the early 2000s, before Shin was removed from the show after a series of bizarre behavior and public anger at creator Chuck Lore.
Krier Entertainment Tonight said in an interview posted Monday, that when the show started in 2003, Shin was “a joy”.
“We were good friends, he was sober for two years when we started the show and it was very important for him to stay alert,” Krayer told the publication. “And in the early years, the show went well.”
Krayer admitted that he often “surprises Charlie Sheen when he faces the audience”.
“He just took it out of the box, as if genetically programmed into his body. “It was fun and very confident,” he said. “For the first two years, it was, you know, an incredible joy.”

However, the show is not over yet. Ashton Kutcher was hired as a replacement and the series ended in 2015 after 11 seasons.
Ten years after his departure, Shin said he regretted his behavior.
