Haechan became a topic on social media after he was seen smoking an electronic cigarette in a video posted on NCT 127’s YouTube. Understand!
Earlier this week, SM Entertainment released a video showing behind the scenes dance practice for the song “Be There For Me”, by NCT 127where, in one of the scenes, it was possible to see the member Haechan smoking an electronic cigarette inside the practice room. The moment has already been edited from the publication.
As reported by the South Korean portal TopStarNews, internet users reportedly filed accusations against the idol to the Department of Health for breaking the law by smoking indoors. This Thursday, the 11th, SM confirmed that Haechan was using an electronic cigarette, and will pay a fine for the improper act (via Soompi).

“We have confirmed that Haechan used an electronic cigarette indoors in NCT 127’s dance practice video released on January 10th. Today (January 11), he intends to pay the fine imposed by the health department responsible for this matter.
We sincerely apologize for causing concern to many through this irresponsible behavior. We will pay special attention to ensure that such incidents do not occur again in the future.”

It is worth remembering that, last Tuesday, the 9th, SM Entertainment announced that Haechan would need to take a break from his activities after being diagnosed with severe tonsillitis.
“While in Japan for scheduled activities, Haechan returned to Korea first on January 8 and visited a hospital due to flu-like symptoms accompanied by a high fever. According to the results of the exam, he has severe tonsillitis and the doctor informed him that he needs plenty of rest and stability. So, Haechan will take a break for now for his quick recovery.
