See the list of five animations that, this year, complete a decade since they debuted in Brazilian cinemas
You blinked and these animations completed ten years of release! The year 2024 will be marked by the decade anniversary of several animated productions that hit theaters in 2014. For this reason, RECREIO has put together a list below of 5 of these memorable works created by the most diverse studios. Check out!
1. Operation Big Hero
Released on December 25, 2014 under the Disney label, “Operação Big Hero” was directed by Chris Williams It is Don Hall to introduce the large white inflatable robot known as Baymax, responsible for keeping Hiro Hamada safe after a family tragedy.
Synopsis: “Operation Big Hero (Big Hero 6) is an action-adventure comedy about prodigy Hiro Hamada, brilliant in robotics, who learns to master his genius, thanks to his brilliant brother Tadashi and his friends: Go Go Tamago, powered adrenaline; Wasabi, whose obsession is organization; Honey Lemon, a chemistry expert; and Fred, a manga fan. When a devastating sequence of events puts them right in the middle of a dangerous plot unfolding on the streets of San Fransokyo, Hiro turns to his closest companion, a robot named Baymax, and transforms the group into a team of high-tech heroes determined to solve the mystery.”
2. Party in the sky
Under the direction of Jorge R. Gutierrez“Festa no Céu” arrived in Brazilian cinemas on October 16, 2014 after being produced by 20th Century Fox Animation and Reel FX Animation Studios, and distributed by 20th Century Fox.
The plot follows the lives of Manolo, Maria and Joaquim, check out the synopsis: “Should he follow in his family’s footsteps or what his heart tells him? Young Manolo sets out on a fantastic journey to discover the path his life can take.”
3. What About Nuts?
Coming to theaters on August 21, 2014, “What Will Be About Nuts?” is a Universal Pictures film directed by Peter Lepeniotis.
The synopsis says: When stubborn squirrel Surly is kicked out of a big city park, he must find other ways to survive. But the place of his dreams is very close to him: it’s Maury’s Nut Store, a store full of nuts, chestnuts, almonds… Surly gathers his friends and comes up with a plan to invade the place and steal all the food to support the winter.
4. How to Train Your Dragon 2
The first sequence of the plot starring Hiccup and his dragon Toothless, “How to Train Your Dragon 2”, was directed by Dean DeBlois. The DreamWorks film opened in national cinemas on June 19, 2014.
“Five years after Hiccup and Toothless unite dragons and Vikings, they must join forces with a mysterious warrior to protect Berk,” says the synopsis available on Prime Video.
5. Rio 2
From the Disney, “Rio 2”, is the second film in the franchise that follows the blue macaw named Blue. From the Brazilian film director, producer, animator and voice actor, Carlos Saldanhathe plot is available on Disney+ with the following synopsis:
“The jungle awaits Blu, Jewel and their three children as they travel from the magical city of Rio de Janeiro towards the wild Amazon, where they discover a long-lost tribe of macaws. As Blu tries to adapt, he must deal with the vengeful Nigel, face loggers in the forest and meet the most feared of all adversaries: his father-in-law.”
