Former White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows broke the documents after a meeting to overturn the results of the 2020 presidential election, the former aide told CNN on Sunday.
Alice Fara Griffin said the source provided “basic knowledge” to a jury investigating the riot that Meadows burned documents in his office after meeting with MP Scott Perry (R-Penn) about the election challenge .
“I expect this testimony to come out,” he told the House committee investigating the uprising.
Another former Meadows aide, Cassidy Hutchinson, said she watched The Meadows Burn Politics documents reported last month.
The meeting with Perry came weeks after the election, when Trump and his supporters were in despair. Find ways to change the sound according to Politico.
Hutchinson also told the jury that Meadows was warned about possible violence on Jan. 6, 2021, but it was unclear what action he took in response.
Griffin may have cited Cassidy as his source, who first learned of Meadows’ destruction of the documents. Hutchinson is the Testimony Expected At TV hearings from the Chamber jury.
Perry forced Meadows to act before the election, Meadows said in a letter to him published by the House Committee.
“Mark, just register because the time is near. 11 days to 1/6 and 25 days before the inauguration. We have to leave! He wrote to Meadows in one of his messages last year.
The full extent of Meadows ’role in the uprising, or what possible lawsuits could be filed against it, is still unclear.
