Eurovision 2024 will take place in the Swedish city of Malmo. The first and second semi-finals are scheduled for May 7 and May 9, respectively. The final will take place on May 11.
Rapper Joost Klein will represent the Netherlands in the Eurovision Song Contest 2024. He was elected from over 600 participants. AVROTROS reported it.
It is known that the song he will represent his country was co-written with rapper Donnie and will be Dutch.
“In the song you will hear his well-known combination of party and nostalgia. In addition, we believe that Joost will perform well with their creativity and positively surprise the Netherlands and Europe. We look forward to the collaboration,” said Twan van de Nevenhuizen , head of the selection committee.
The singer himself has already commented on this event. He admitted that representing his country at Eurovision has been his dream for a long time.
“Participating in the Eurovision Song Contest is a dream come true. I used to watch it every year with my parents, glued to the TV. It’s an honor that I can represent the Netherlands and I will do my best to get the best result,” said the singer.
However, Jost Klein’s work evokes different reactions from society, because he has two tracks common to Russian artists, which were released after the start of the full-scale invasion.
On March 11, 2022, a track by Jost Klein with Russian musician CMH (CrazyMegaHell) appeared on the Spotify, Apple Music, and YouTube Music platforms. In the song, the Dutchman sings about his love for Russian women.
The second song, called Normalje Bass, was released in February 2023 in collaboration with the Russian rave group Russian Village Boys.
