Fantagio announced the news one day after moving the temple that hosted the memorial space dedicated to honoring the life of ASTRO’s Moonbin
The memorial space dedicated to Moonbin, by ASTRO, located at Seonunsa Temple in South Korea, has been closed! The decision was published by Fantagio, the agency that was responsible for the idol’s career and that manages the group, through the formation’s official fan cafe last Sunday, 3rd.
The action was taken in order to respond to the requests of AROHA (as the group’s fans are called) who requested that the memorial be stopped at the location.
Based on AROHA’s views, we have decided to immediately close Seonunsa Temple Moon Space (Moonbin memorial space) from 8pm KST on December 3rd,” the company wrote.
It is worth remembering that ASTRO’s official fandom began calling for the site to be closed after the memorial was moved from Gukcheongsa Temple near Namhansanseong to Seonunsa Temple on December 2. The change raised suspicions, as fans began to believe that Fantagio had signed a commercial agreement with the new time to make a profit from fan visits, as explained by the Soompi portal.
Following the rumors, Fantagio spoke out on the matter, clarifying that they did not enter into “any type of agreement or contract with Seonunsa and do not have any financial interest”. Furthermore, they explained the reason for changing temples:
The reason for relocating the Lunar Space from Gukcheongsa Temple to Seonunsa Temple was due to safety concerns for visitors in winter and to enshrine a permanent memorial tombstone for Moonbin. We decided to move because Gukcheongsa Temple is a branch temple belonging to Seonunsa Temple.”
Finally, the agency revealed that every corner of the exhibition was designed and prepared to honor the lives of Moobindemonstrating the love they felt for the idol, as well as revealing that if new false information circulates again, legal measures will be taken by the company.
Our agency’s executives and employees went to Seonunsa Temple and carefully prepared the memorial space by hand for several days out of love for Moonbin. Please do not distort and falsely instigate the feelings of Fantagio executives and employees towards Moonbin. We plan to take strong legal action against the circulation of false rumors in the future.”
MoonbinHe passed away at the age of 25 on April 19 of this year. The idol was found dead by his manager at his home in the Gangnam district at around 8:10 pm (South Korean time) on that same date.
