In mandatory military service in South Korea since December last year, Jin, from BTS, celebrates his first anniversary in the army
This Monday, 4th, Jin, from BTS, gets a little older. The idol celebrates his 31st birthday, and as part of the celebrations, he published a letter expressing gratitude for the congratulatory messages from ARMY (as BTS fans are called), while also providing updates on his military enlistment.
In the text (via Soompi), he said that he will not be able to do a live broadcast to talk to the fandom this year, as he usually does.
Hello, this is Jin. Thank you for wishing me a happy birthday. I’ve always enjoyed doing my live streams on my birthday with ARMY, but unfortunately I can’t enjoy it this year and it’s heartbreaking. Even though I can’t be with you in person, know that I’m having so much fun with all of you in my heart hehe,” he began writing.
Soon after, the idol explained that he concluded that he is about to complete his military service, as his enlistment took place a few days after his 30th birthday, more precisely, on December 13th of last year.
It’s been a year since I joined the army. There’s still a lot of time left, but I’m already excited to be with you, as I only have about 1/3 left. Oh, and our members are going to join the army (LOLOLOLOL) I’m going to cry. I hope time passes quickly and I can have fun with the members and ARMYs again. Thanks again for the birthday wishes and I hope to see you all soon.
Finally, Jin upgraded his rank in the army. He joined as an assistant instructor at the Yeoncheon military base, Gyeonggi province, South Korea, was promoted to corporal in July this year, and has now risen to the role of sergeant due to his exemplary performance.
I am currently Sergeant Kim Seokjin, after another early promotion due to my excellent (important) military career”, concluded the idol.
