In the “Hunger Games” franchise, it is possible to follow two important phases in the life of Coryolanos Snow; find out his age in each of them!
With the premiere of “The Hunger Games: A Song of Birds and Snakes” held on November 15, fans of the franchise that adapts the author’s books Suzanne Collinsto the cinemas they were able to see a younger version of the tyrannical President Snow, who this time was played by the actor of English origin, Tom Blyth.
It is known that the new feature film is set 64 years before the story experienced by Katniss Everdeen (Jennifer Lawrence) and Peeta Mellark (Josh Hutcherson), so, how old is Snow in the dystopian saga stories? RECREIO gathered the information below; look!
Snow’s age
In the most recent production in the Hunger Games universe, young Coryolanos Snow is 18 years old. The information is not confirmed in the film, however, in the book “A Cantiga dos Pássaros e das Serpentes”, released in 2020, the true age of the villain is revealed, as explained by the Screenrant portal.
The age could have been changed in the feature film, however, as Snow was about to graduate from the Panem Academy when, as his final assignment, he is chosen as one of the 24 new tribute mentors for the tenth edition of the Hunger Games, it is likely that the character is actually 18 years old in the plot.
An interesting curiosity is that Tom Blyth, the actor who plays Snow in the Hunger Games prequel, is almost 10 years older than his character. This is because the star, who was born on February 2, 1995, was 27 during the filming of the film.
In the film released in 2012, that is, in “The Hunger Games” by Gary Ross, Snow, who appears gray-haired and even more cruel as the leader of Panem, would be 82 years old. This is because the plot takes place more than six decades after the events seen in “A Cantiga dos Pássaros e das Serpentes”, as mentioned previously.
Different than Blyth, Donald Sutherlandthe actor who played the older version of the president of Panem, was younger than the villain, since at the time, he was 76 years old.
Jumping forward to “Catching Fire” (2013), it has only been a year since Katniss volunteered as a harvest tribute in place of her younger sister, Prym. Thus, Snow would have been 83 years old during the quarter-year massacre — also known as the 75th edition of the Hunger Games.
Finally, the last two films in the franchise, “The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Parts 1 and 2” take place right after the events seen in “Catching Fire”. There is no significant passage of time reported during the plot that shows that there was progress beyond the 12-month mark in the final revolution of the 13 districts of Panem. Therefore, it is likely that Snow will remain 83 years old until the end of the film, when he is murdered by Katniss.
