Nicole Garcia. – When was the last time you said the words “Everything is fine”? It’s easy for you!
Virginia Ephira. – Everything is fine, everything is fine… Of course, I gave birth a short time ago! So, with the number of messages I’ve received, it’s impossible to describe this or that in detail… So yes, everything is good, everything is even very good.
Nicole Garcia. – What did you discover about me during filming?
Virginia Ephira. – Everything I suspected is true (laughs). Nicole’s funny nature had already appeared to me in the cinema, for example in the film of Laurent Lafitte (The origin of the world, in 2020), but there I had a wonderful confirmation. He was extremely funny when he was playing, but also in the hallways where he wasn’t playing. I’ve always liked the way he thinks, the way he expresses himself, his voice obviously, but it’s almost a common thing. The voice follows the train of thought and gets lost there. And you, Nicole, what attracted you to the script of the film? Everything is fine ?
Nicole Garcia.– The script, and this way of telling the family story. Studying family is always fascinating, and here it is very well explored; the main event in the middle is everything around, the way everyone defines themselves through very strong sentimental attachment or denial. And then everything that is born in families, love, hate and all these storms that you have to know how to deal with. It’s actually a series about a family storm. Virginie, which scene with me will you remember forever?
Virginia Ephira. -I immediately think of the scene where Nicole calls me because she shot a deer in the forest. This poor deer is on his hat, and it disgusts him so much that he calls me to come and help him, although I really wish I could do something else. The song “Captain Abandoned” is played by Oskin in the background. Nicole, are all families really dysfunctional?
Nicole Garcia.- I hope not.
Virginia Ephira. – I hope it’s not just mine. (is laughing):
Nicole Garcia. – Maybe there are many people who avoid this, but in any case, I know many families who are unable to function. There are dysfunctions in all shades of gray, and in all shades of dysfunction.
