The term “chill kill”, presented at launch, means an incident or existence that breaks the silence, as reflected by Soompi. In this way, the song discusses how a chill kill that appears suddenly can affect a relationship.
Through her official Instagram page, Joy explained a little more about the track, where she said:
“To explain the song title: ‘Chill Kill’ means ‘an event or existence that breaks the silence’. With the appearance of Chill Kill, my world became a tragedy, but even so, the song talks about memories, longing and dreaming of hope.
I hope this album is a small comfort to everyone who is going through a difficult time right now, to say ‘one day, this will get better’.”
During the live countdown to the release of the album, which is Red Velvet’s first full-album in six years, the members revealed that “Chill Kill” was the most difficult track to record, but that they didn’t feel so excited. with a demo since “Feel My Rhythm”.
In addition to the title track, the album also has nine more songs. They are: “Knock Knock (Who’s There?)”, “Underwater”, “Will I Ever See You Again?”, “Nightmare”, “Iced Coffee”, “One Kiss”, “Bulldozer”, “Wings” and “ Scenery”.
