The 42-year-old businesswoman testified in New York State Supreme Court this Wednesday, November 8, as part of the fraud trial against her father, Donald Trump, and his two brothers.
We saw her step out of her 4×4 looking dignified, dressed in all black, her sunny blonde hair falling over her shoulders and sitting on towering pumps. This Wednesday, November 8, Ivanka Trump, the eldest daughter of former United States President Donald Trump, went to the New York State Supreme Court to testify under oath in the latter’s civil trial. His father, who led the country from 2017 to 2021, is actually being prosecuted for a $250 million (about €234 million) fraud involving his real estate. The 77-year-old billionaire is accused of inflating his assets to get low-interest loans from his bankers in the 2010s. Ivanka Trump’s two brothers, Donald Trump Jr. and Eric Trump, are also being prosecuted in this case.
If Ivanka Trump is the only one who has not been the target of this trial, then she has not escaped the groans of the protesters stationed in front of the court. A video shared by Bloomberg via X (formerly Twitter) captured his chaotic arrival in front of the Palace of Justice. “Family of crooks,” we hear the crowd chanting. shouts to which the person concerned seems hermetic.
“I do not remember”
The 42-year-old businesswoman was smiling and relaxed when she had to answer the prosecutor about the negotiations with the banks when she was in office from 2011 to 2017. “These were not the things I was aware of (…). I was not involved in his personal financial statements,” he said New York Post , noting that he does not remember in detail what discussions he had with banks regarding the terms of loans for the Trump Organization holding. Words that New York State Attorney General Letitia James wants to counter, convinced that Donald Trump’s daughter “secured and negotiated lucrative loans based on fraudulent financial statements” before leaving her empire, her father.
As reported again New York PostThe latter would also be greeted in the courtroom by the shrill outburst of Judge Arthur Engoron. In fact, she would ask who he was when he welcomed her. A detail that does not bode well for the Trump family, and especially for its patriarch, who is again running for the White House in 2025.
