Check out the allusions to BTS present in “Standing Next To You”, a tiltle-track from Jungkook’s first album
Last Friday, 7th, Jungkook, from BTS, released the MV for “Standing Next To You”, the title-track of his first solo album: “GOLDEN”. The track talks about the strength of love, which is capable of taking two people to overcome any adversity together. Remember the MV above!
In addition to the lyrics, the song also drew attention for its powerful vocals. Jungkook, as well as the choreography and visuals of the clip. More than that, the ARMY (as BTS fans are called) found yet another reason to praise the track: the possible references to BTS in the music video.
If you haven’t noticed the likely Easter eggs related to the group in “Standing Next To You”, don’t worry, RECREIO has put together 5 of them in the list below.
1. Run
In the second 0:14 of the MV Jungkook, the first possible allusion to the group appears. This is because the scene shows a car in a tunnel, similar to the sequence seen at minute 4:28 of the video for “Run”, a track from the album “The Most Beautiful Moment in Life, Part 2”, by BTS. Compare!
2. Fire
In the chorus, Jungkook sings the title of the song: “Standing in the fire next to you”, which in addition to bearing the name of the track “Fire”, by BTS, features a dance movement that is reminiscent of the one seen in the track included in the album “The Most Beautiful Moment in Life: Young Forever” (2016), as the idol and dancers place their fists in front of their shoulders at minute 1:21.

3. DNA
The clearest Easter egg appears at the time: 1:29! That’s because, in this part of the song, Jungkook not only sings the word “DNA”, but also makes the same signature sign as in the BTS track of the same name.
It is worth remembering that “DNA” was released in 2017 and is part of the albums “Love Yourself: Her” and “Love Yourself: Answer”. Remember the MV!
4. Black Swan
During the clip, Jungkook appears winged in a black suit in several frames. The black wings and some of the idol’s poses were reminiscent of photos from “Map of the Soul: 7”, the group’s fourth full-album released in 2020. Check it out!
Furthermore, the first single from the album, “Black Swan”, also seems to have emerged as a reference. That’s because, at minute 2:14 of “Standing in the fire next to you”, the dancers and J.K. they raise their hands towards the sky, similar to what was seen in the first seconds of the MV of the track released three years ago. 5. Dynamite
“Dynamite” also appears in “Standing Next To You”. The 2020 hit has the same movements from the beginning of the chorus placed in part of the choreography of the new comeback by Jungkook. This is because, at minute 2:29, the idol does a combination of steps similar to the one seen from 1:56 onwards in the MV for the album’s first single “Be”. Check it out below!
