Disney fans always come up with wild theories, and try to find connections between the studio’s animations, to try to explain a universe with all the productions of the company founded by Walt Disney.
Most speculations happen due to Easter eggs present in the films, while others arise simply due to the context of the stories. Some of these hypotheses even make sense, where certain stories have even been confirmed or denied by directors and screenwriters.
With this in mind, RECREIO brought five connections between some Disney films. Check out!
1. Tarzan and Beauty and the Beast
There is a theory that says that Jane, from “Tarzan”, is the granddaughter of Belle and Prince Addam, better known as Beast. This hypothesis was created because, in one scene, it is possible to see a tea set just like Mrs. Potts, which we see in “Beauty and the Beast”.
After fans noticed this Easter-egg, other points were raised, such as the fact that Jane reminds her a little of the princess and that they both wear yellow dresses. Find out the other details of this theory by clicking here.
2. The Little Mermaid and Hercules
Some theories only happen due to factors external to the animation, and this is the case with the connection between “The Little Mermaid” and “Hercules”, which can be explained through Greek mythology.
Ariel is one of the seven daughters of Triton who, according to Greek myths, is the son of the god Poseidon. Hercules is the son of Zeus, the most powerful god on Mount Olympus. Thus, if Zeus and Poseidon are brothers, this makes Hercules Triton’s cousin, and Ariel’s second cousin.

3. Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs and Tangled
Both Mother Gothel, the villain of “Tangled”, and the Evil Queen, the villain of “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs”, always want to look beautiful. This caught the attention of fans, which made them question the possibility of them being the same person.
Furthermore, there are some details that can show that this is true! The first of them is that both films are set in Germany. Another fact that may prove this theory is that Mother Gothel has a dagger kept in a box, exactly like the Evil Queen. And we cannot forget that the physical appearance of the two, which are very similar…

4. Beauty and the Beast and Aladdin
Because she likes to read, Bela is seen as a strange girl by her village. At the beginning of the film, she goes to the small town’s bookstore to return a book, and reveals that her favorite story talks about “distant places, sword duels, spells and a prince in disguise”.

If you analyze it correctly, this description made by the princess is very reminiscent of the plot of “Aladdin”. Everything she describes actually happens in the story of the thief who became a prince. And, finally, she also recalls a scene from the book that says that the princess only finds out about Prince Charming almost at the end, which fits perfectly with Aladdin and Jasmine’s romance.

5. Peter Pan and The Little Mermaid
Have you ever thought that Captain Hook could be to blame for Ariel’s mother’s death? In “The Little Mermaid: Ariel’s Story,” fans discovered that the mermaid’s mother was killed by an evil pirate. But this is not enough to conclude that the “Peter Pan” villain was responsible for the tragedy.
However, it is possible to notice in a certain scene in the film about the boy who doesn’t want to grow up that one of the Never Land mermaids is very similar to Athena, Ariel’s mother. Another interesting detail is that the mermaids were terrified of Captain Hook, which may indicate that he hunted them, being yet another indication that he was the one who killed the queen of the seas.
