After two weeks of showing, Five Nights at Freddy’s continues to top the box office
The “Five Nights At Freddy’s” film continues to haunt box offices around the world. In its second week on display, the production, which is based on a game of the same name, grossed US$ 19.4 million, being the most watched film in both Brazil and the USA. In total, the horror with animatronics has already accumulated US$ 113.6 million.
The game adaptation had a strong competitor in theaters: the concert film by Taylor Swift. The singer’s film, titled “Taylor Swift — The Eras Tour Concert Film”, came in second place in the box office ranking and grossed, in its fourth week of exhibition, US$ 13.5 million. Despite this, its total revenue is greater than FNAF, being US$ 165.9 thousand. However, there are chances that the film starringJosh Hutchserson raise the same amount, or even more than the blonde’s production.
Sequence?
Emma Tami, director of “Five Nights At Freddy’s” has already made it clear that she left some “loose ends” in the film, so that there would be room for a possible sequel. In addition to the filmmaker, Bluemhouse, the live-action producer, would also be inclined to continue this universe.
SPOILER ALERT
One of the mysteries that has not been solved is the supposed sacrifice of Garret, Mike’s brother. Tami was asked about this and responded:
I feel like this could also serve as the basis of something bigger for fans to theorize about. I would love not to dismiss anyone’s theories.” (via Cinemapop)
