My state of mind at the moment?
When you’ve rowed across oceans, alone and unaided, you’re naturally optimistic. I believe in the man with a capital H, in his ability to achieve things he thought were unthinkable.
The secret of preparing the book.
My four children, ages 5, 8, 10, and 15, are my mentors. I couldn’t dream of a better test audience for my youth projects, whether it’s books or what I’m doing with the foundation.
The message I want to convey to the younger generation.
We live on a blue planet and we need the ocean for our future. Life originated in the depths more than three billion years ago. 50% of the oxygen we breathe comes from the ocean. 22,000 drugs were obtained from it; some of our food comes from it… It is the cauldron and lungs of humanity, and I try to give young people enough knowledge to raise respect for what gives us life.

Place elements of language on environmental causes.
None, but I try to be positive without feeling guilty. It’s not always easy, but I try to see the glass half full, focus on progress and inspiring solutions that will encourage our children to think about a professional or civic future close to nature.

My mental load.
Like many women, I juggle things from checking on the kids’ extracurricular activities to re-reading chapter 12 of my next book, preparing for the next sea lessons from my foundation to prioritizing areas of education. It’s nurturing, but it’s also consistent and sometimes very frenetically paced.
I lie in interviews.
Never. I am 100% me. I spent my life in the oceans, I had to drink my own urine to ensure my survival. it defiles many things. I never think in terms of image.
A subject that throws me off my hinges.
Nobody. When we are too committed, sometimes we want to rebel. But when you’ve hit twelve-meter waves and seen your boat capsize in the middle of the night, you feel self-control.

What do I like people to say about me?
It touches me that people perceive my sensitivity. Because of my speeches, people sometimes think I’m a concrete block. But having an iron will is not incompatible with great sensitivity.
