At the end of Prince Christian of Denmark’s birthday party this Sunday, October 15, a shoe was found. A real treasure hunt is on to find the modern day Cinderella.
The magnificence of the place was already making dreams come true. If, in addition, we find a sandal with golden heels stuck in the middle of the reception, as if lost, we will honestly think that we are immersed in the movie. The story takes place at Christianborg Castle in Denmark, the day after Prince Christian’s birthday party. Who did this shoe belong to? Did he leave it there on purpose? So many questions that fascinated the country… for twenty-four hours.
A story worthy of a fairy tale
In a country associated with the royal family, which watched its prince’s birthday with great interest, the ceremony was even televised live, the discovery of the abandoned and mismatched shoe had all the makings of a Cinderella tale. It was with light humor, typically Scandinavian, that the crown’s Instagram account shared this story and thereby wanted to find “the young woman in the golden sandal”. Indeed, a photo of the shoe, soberly placed on the step of the stairs, was published with the caption: For more information, the context said: “When the guests of Her Majesty the Queen’s gala banquet returned home yesterday, this solitary stiletto shoe was left at Christiansborg Castle. The owner is invited to contact us to restore it.

From then on, all lovers of the Danish crown wanted to discover the mystery, and a real treasure hunt began. As a sign of the impact of the case, the national television “TV2” went so far as to watch the entire video of the evening and finally found the young girl in the golden shoes. It was Anne-Sophie Tornsjo Olesen, an 18-year-old young woman.
A sense of humor
Although she didn’t really want to be Cinderella, the young lady explained to the Danish media that she rather wanted to do humor. “It was a great opportunity to make the classic Grimm’s fairy tales come true,” he said. “I told myself (…) that this will only happen once in my life, so I can do it,” he declared. “It’s not that I think I’m going to marry him, but I was hoping that someone would find it funny and then it would also bring attention to the royal family,” she confided. We even learned that the latter got so carried away by the naughty joke that he had to try it twice. So when he left his shoe behind, someone rushed to give it to him, making his maddening task even more difficult. Only later was he able to calmly place his shoe on the steps.
