Over the decades, many children’s programs have marked Brazilian TV, enchanting children; remember some of them!
1. Sítio do Picapau Amarelo
When: 1952 — 2007
Emília, Narizinho, Dona Benta and Aunt Nastácia, characters from the writer Monteiro Lobato, debuted on TV in 1952, on Tupi. In 1964, a version aired on TV Cultura and, in 1967, on Bandeirantes. On Globo, the group debuted in 1977 and remained on air until 1986. In 2001, it gained a new version, which lasted until 2007.
2. The Trapalhões
When: 1966 — 1995
The troupe formed by Didi, Dedé, Mussum It is Zechariah arrived on Globo in 1977. Before, from 1966 onwards, similar formats were presented on other stations and with different members: the first were Adoráveis Trapalhões (Excelsior), Os Insociáveis (Record) and Os Trapalhões (Tupi). The program showed several mood boards.
3. Magic Balloon
When: 1983 — 1986
Presented by children (and featuring cartoons such as Bugs Bunny and Smurfs), it was a phenomenon on Globo. To call the animations, small stories were created, interpreted by the cast. In addition to the children, the Fofão doll was one of the characters.
4. Weather Vane
When: 1985 — 1989
Made with the support of professionals specializing in education, it taught concepts and skills to help children’s development. Cata-Vento was presented by three people on TV Cultura.
5. Xou da Xuxa
When: 1986 — 1992
A mix of musical attractions, games and cartoon exhibitions made up this TV Globo success. At each recording there were around 200 children in the studio. In addition to the presenter Xuxathe Paquitas participated in this attraction.
6. Mundo da Lua
When: 1991 — 1992
The series aired on TV Cultura and showed the life of Lucas Silva e Silva — and his family. When he turned 10, Lucas received a tape recorder from his grandfather. So, he started recording everything that happened in his imagination.
7. TV Colosso
When: 1993 — 1997
Imagine a TV controlled by 25 dogs and three fleas! This was the routine of TV Colosso, on Globo. The idea was to show the characters in a television environment. In addition to the paintings, there were cartoons.
8. Rá-Tim-Bum Castle
When: 1994 — 1997
With 90 episodes, the series aired on TV Cultura and showed the daily life of Nino, a 300-year-old boy who lived in a castle. Alongside his friends, talking animals and wizard uncles, he faced various adventures.
