After the reign of the so-called “milk nails” among the stars, a new nail art trend is emerging, inspired by another drink, the “Pumpkin spice latte”. Made from coffee, milk, and spices, the dark orange color of this eponymous fall drink, which is very popular in the US, is actually found on some celebrities’ nails this season. The latest to adopt it was Blake Lively, who wore it on September 11, 2023 at the Michael Kors Spring-Summer show in New York.

The actress’ manicurist, Elle Gerstein, describes her work as a “skinny leather look.” An optical effect that she created thanks to placing small rhinestones on the outline of each nail painted with this shade of orange varnish.

Before her, other celebrities have tried this look, such as model Hailey Bieber, who chose the version with a crocodile skin pattern, or singer Halle Bailey, who dared to have a mirror effect.

It’s not just personalities that succumb to it. Going viral on social media, the pumpkin spice latte nail art trend is also gaining popularity among enthusiasts. The proof is that it has more than 484 million views on Tiktok alone. Videos show how to achieve an orange milkshake effect, while others experiment with glittery versions or designs related to a Halloween party. The entire palette of orange tones is explored, from tangerine to copper, sometimes with brown or reddish hues.

It’s also one of the most promising beauty trends since the start of September, according to Pinterest, which saw a four-fold increase in searches for the topic from previous weeks during the month of August.
