However, there is a problem that has become increasingly recurrent: the lack of time for two parents to dedicate themselves to playing with their children on a daily basis, something that Mariana claims to fit into the culture of exhaustion, where people feel like they live on autopilot, letting the feeling of exhaustion take over their entire agenda.
With this, the psychologist defends the need to define priorities, organizing and planning moments to dedicate to the little ones, not just on weekends, but daily, in order to maintain a healthy relationship with the little ones.
The child wants someone who teaches them, who spends time with them. The father or mother in this case will have to work hard over the weekend to regain that trust. So, every weekend I have to regain my son’s trust there is complicated. So, even if it’s a little bit a day, minutes a day, fifteen minutes a day, it’s nice to think: ‘I’m going to play with my son, I’m going to play what he likes.’”
More than that, the parental educator reflects on the use of screens during fun, highlighting that they are often used in situations where the child could be experiencing a real action.
Nowadays there is a lot of exploration of the screen, video games, television. This overloads the neurological function of a child who would be able to explore, walk in nature, run around, play bounce house, play hide and seek and what happens? She is there facing the screen. And the screen doesn’t show a real experiment. It is a situation that is not reality. Who is it half-socialization with? I don’t know.”
She also highlights that use can be welcomed when guided and accompanied by parents following the rules of the World Health Organization (WHO), where children aged two to five can consume a maximum of one hour per day on the screen, while children aged six to ten can enjoy these resources for two hours.

With this in mind, there is also a way to transform jokes into good actions, allowing fun to gain even more meaning. This happens in The Walt Disney Company Brazil’s “Play and Donate” campaign, created this year to encourage families to spend quality time and play together.
This is because the action converts every hour played into R$50.00 in donation to the Instituto Gerando Falcões – a social development ecosystem that accelerates the power of impact of favela leaders through sport, culture, professional qualifications, economic development and citizenship .
To this end, a “Toy Meter” was installed on Avenida Paulista, at number 1776, that is, an information panel that reveals the total hours played and the corresponding amount donated to the Gerando Falcões Institute. In the same location, there will be two Blitz Rádio Disney actions held on the last two Sundays of the month, where participants will be able to take quizzes, and enjoy live prizes and prize draws, all in partnership with Rádio Disney.
