Discover what has changed in the concept of time travel with the arrival of the second season of “Loki”
Arriving on Disney+ last Thursday, 5th, the first episode of the highly anticipated second season of “Loki” brought a major change to the concept of time travel established by the Marvel Cinematic Universe in “Avengers: Endgame”.

The last Avengers film released in 2019, featured the heroes traveling to the past, where Hulk explains that going back in time would not interfere with events in the present and future, in fact, the action would generate a new timeline.
This concept was better addressed in the first season of Loki, being explored with the inclusion of the Time Variance Authority (AVT) and the Sacred Timeline, showing what happens when different timelines cause interference with each other.
However, the idea seems to have changed after the final event of the first season, i.e. after Sylvie (Sofia Di Martino) kill He Who Remains (Jonathan Majors). This is because, from then on, Loki (Tom Hiddleston) began to slide through time, changing the rule explained by Hulk years before, as his actions in the past end up altering the future in real time.
The moment is seen when Loki and Mobius (Owen Wilson) go to the limits of the AVT basement and enter the memories and improvements sector, meeting a new character: Ouroboros (Ke Huy Quan), also known as OB, who became responsible for helping the God of Mischief free himself from the temporal slippage.
There, Loki ends up going back to the past while Mobius talks to Ouroboros in the present. However, as Loki provides new information to OB, the character remembers himself in the future, showing that the future can be affected by the past.
Therefore, the new episodes of the series should better explain how the change was possible, although in the first season, Mobius said that things could get a little confusing when he stated that “time works differently in the TVA”.
