Last Thursday, the first episode of the second season of “Loki”, an MCU series starring Tom Hiddleston. In the new episodes, the audience is introduced to OB, a new character played by the Oscar winner Ke Huy Quan where, as revealed by executive producer Kevin Wrightwas cast in a hurry.
During an interview with Yahoo!, Wright says that at the time when “Everything in Every Place at the Same Time”, a film that won the Oscar for Supporting Actor for Kehad debuted in limited form in the United States, he received a call from Sarah FinnLoki’s casting coordinator, stating that Huy Quan would be the perfect choice.
“She said, ‘Hey, I’m about to start putting together a list of possible OBs, but before I do that, I think you guys should meet Ke [Huy Quan]. His movie is about to blow up. I think it should be him. I think if we don’t make an offer before the weekend, it could get very, very busy.”
Therefore, Kevin revealed that the “Loki” team held a video call meeting with Ke Huy Quan the next day, and managed to close a contract just two days later.
“The character [OB] it was already like that. But when we climb him, when he [Quan] came in, he screamed. He said, ‘This is an adult Data.’ And I would say to eagle-eyed viewers: there are a number of Easter eggs from Ke’s filmography, both recent and past, that pepper his workshop on Loki.”
In addition to the return of Hiddlestonin the main role, “Loki” also features the return of Sofia Di MartinoSylvie’s interpreter, Owen Wilson like Mobius, Gugu Mbatha-Raw like Ravona and Jonathan Majors like Kang. Remember the trailer for the second season!
