Boldness is his trademark, ease is all he shies away from. In Robbery, in Iris Kaltenbeck’s first film, the actress plays a touching character, a midwife who loses it when her best friend gives birth. A challenge he talks about in this Autopromo interview.
Being a freelance actress…
It is a struggle and a course of action. When I had no money, I refused projects that did not correspond to my ideas about this profession. I want to make films for the right reasons and be there for the long haul.
My biggest area of freedom.
Production, my first film, You deserve love, was done without financing, without constraints. Getting behind the camera also allowed me to stop waiting for roles on my stomach. No longer depending on the wishes of others sets you free.
My model of freedom.
In this profession, Kate Winslet and Hiam Abbas, who makes films for the love of art and emotional self-transcendence.

Why go see? Robbery ?
It is a beautiful story of love and friendship. My crush on Iris Kaltenbach was immediate. this is his first film, but he already has an impressive vision and writing quality.
My character Robbery ?
I like his mystery and strangeness, which is a consequence of his solitude. She is a love-struck woman who commits a crazy act. my challenge was to create empathy in spite of everything.

Filming secret.
Everything you see on the screen, I experienced it. I took an immersion course with midwives and, with the consent of the mothers, I reproduced consultations, participated in childbirths, helped children to be born… If I didn’t have a son. Two and a half years ago, I don’t know if I would have endured, there were many beautiful moments, but also a lot of stress, sometimes suffering.
Is the first one good?
When playing with a child, we have almost no choice. They are unpredictable and force you to adapt. you must be on the ball. But I liked it. I’m in my element with kids.
Is promoting myself a chore?
No way. To some extent, I think it’s important to give a little bit of yourself to the community that supports you.
Wooden tongue or very sharp?
I am reserved, but my speech is free. Perhaps also because I am lucky that people are kind to me.

A subject that throws me off my hinges.
This is no longer the case, but I was systematically asked about the place of women of North African origin on the screens. However, I was born in France and my vision of cinema is universal. When I write and my story does not require it, I never ask myself the question of the origin of the actors.
My current mental load.
Every day. managing to reconcile my life as a mother, daughter, friend, actress and director. For example, since becoming a mother, I am more careful about my artistic choices. if I leave the house, it must be for a good reason.
I lie in interviews.
No, but from reading or hearing some things, I know that others are less immoral.
Getting behind the camera also allowed me to stop waiting for roles on my stomach.

An opinion that made me happy.
Positive feedback Robbery After the Cannes Film Festival. But real life and responsibilities keep me from congratulating myself for too long.
What am I going to do after this interview?
Making food for my 2 1/2 year old son before reading to him Chupi Or Little Wolf.
