James Gunn, one of the new CEOs of DC Studios, explained why the DCEU will not be canon to the new DCU
Since james gunn became co-CEO of DC Studios, many questions about the future of productions were raised. And the filmmaker ended up answering some of these questions through his Threads account. In the midst of this, he has already made it clear that DCEU productions will not be canon in the new DCU.

The director, who will be directing the feature film “Superman: Legacy”, gave further explanations:
And yes, some actors will play characters they’ve played previously, and some plot points may be consistent with others from dozens of films, series and animations that have come from DC in the past. But nothing is canon until Creature Command and Superman: Legacy.”
Among the actors who will bring their characters to life again in the DC universe, according to Gunnthey are Viola Davis, John Cena It is Xolo Maridueña, who play, respectively, Amanda Waller, the Peacemaker and the Blue Beetle. Including the character of Davis will be in Command of Creatures. DC’s new co-CEO also confirmed that the second season of “Peacemaker” is already in development.
Creature Command is part of the new shared universe configuration, which began with a part dedicated to the gods and monsters of the DC universe. The DCU has films and series with the same vision, but each production has its own tone in the stories. The DCU productions will be: “Superman: Legacy”, “Batman: The Brave and the Bold” and a Green Lantern series.
