Netflix’s four-episode documentary series, dedicated to the Beckham couple and the footballer’s career, will be available on the platform from October 4. The first trailer was released a little while ago.
“Tonight we tell you how David Beckham became a global star,” we’re promised in the intro. The highly-anticipated Netflix documentary series about the British football icon, simply titled Beckham, yesterday, Tuesday September 19, premiered the first trailer for these four hour-long episodes. They are dedicated to David Beckham’s career and his romance with the equally iconic Victoria Beckham. In this trailer, which lasts more than 2 minutes and 40 minutes and is full of archival images, the two characters appear in front of the camera as other guests, relatives, parents or colleagues.
This original work will be a kind of journey through time, as it will first return to the childhood of a small Londoner from the north-east boroughs, the son of a hairdresser and a kitchen master, destined for a great career: football. “I was never really good at school because all I wanted to do was play football,” he can be heard recalling. Then comes the story of his rise. decade at Manchester United and the 1998-99 season, historic in many ways, where David built his legend by winning the Champions League, the league and the FA Cup. So, some of his most impressive actions on the field are re-broadcast.

But it’s not just about football. Beckham will be a dive into 1990s fashion, a chance to rediscover the footballer’s multiple hair looks and, above all, relive his romance with then-Spice Girl Victoria Adams, to the delight of tabloids around the world. “My manager wanted us to stay low-key. So we’d see each other in parking lots, even if it wasn’t as embarrassing as it might sound,” confides the former Posh Spice. The two married in July 1999.
